Fall: Season of coziness
Fall is a brief reminder of the pre-winter season. It’s beautiful and full of great colors. Pumpkin patches, Thanksgiving, Halloween and plenty of colorful clothing choices.
Halloween has a lot of spooky and fun activities. For junior Jesse Avery, her favorite thing to do during Halloween is visit haunted houses with friends.
“I want to try and go to more than five haunted houses with my friends.” Jesse said. “I love the thrill haunted houses bring. I cannot get enough of them,”
Terror on the Fox, Green Bay Fear, Revenge Haunt, and The Morgue are all popular haunted houses located in the Green Bay area, but for senior Isaiah Grimm, Halloween means more to him than just haunted houses .
“My family and I love participating in Halloween activities together,” Isaiah said. “Our favorite bonding activity is to go to a local pumpkin patch and carve pumpkins out for our front porch.”
But some people don’t enjoy the holiday as much as other holidays. Halloween can have different values to different people, and it might not be considered as important compared to different holidays.
“I usually don’t do much for celebrating Halloween.” Jesse said. “I don’t enjoy it too much because it indicates the end of good weather,”
Cold weather usually indicates the middle of fall, and with that comes Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving brings a lot to the table. Family, turkey, and football are some things people typically may think of when Thanksgiving comes to mind.
“I love Thanksgiving time; the vibes during that week are the best.” said Jesse. “Pumpkin flavored coffees, colorful pictures with the leaves and flannel season are awesome,”
Thanksgiving is a special holiday for a lot of people. It’s a time to give thanks to many special people.
But for Jesse, Thanksgiving is one of her favorite holidays. She loves to spend time with her family and enjoy good food.
Thanksgiving brings a lot of yummy, delicious food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
“I love Thanksgiving food. It is my favorite type of holiday food and is one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving,” Isaiah said.
Some people like enjoying fall food in different atmospheres as well.
“My friends and I love to go to Starbucks, or The Daily Buzz to grab a pumpkin spice latte, and work on our school work,” Jesse said.
Everyone has different ways of celebrating Thanksgiving. Some visit loved ones, or some stay at home and celebrate with their family.
“We love to stay at home and have some family over for Thanksgiving. My grandpa, dad, and I love to watch Thanksgiving football together,” Isaiah said.
To Jesse, fall brings a sense of bonding with friends or family, no matter what day of the month it is.
“Fall has such a spectacular vibe.” Jesse said. “I love everything about it, which is why it’s my favorite season.”
